Most Inexpensive Charcoal Mask ...for acne prone and oily skin!

Most Inexpensive Charcoal Face Mask

Lately i had been reading so much about Charcoal and its skin care benefits.
Charcoal has the capacity to pull out all types of bacteria, poisons, chemicals, dirt and other micro-particles to the surface of skin, This helps the skin get rid of all the toxins and to achieve a flawless complexion and fight acne. Charcoal is not absorbed by the body, but it can be used to treat some poisonous bites and disinfect some wounds. Activated charcoal powder is proven to adsorb thousands of times its own mass in harmful substances, which makes it a popular ingredient in facial masks.

While I was searching for some good charcoal, came across thousands of brands and options online. But then I was looking something handy and easily available. I could recollect my aunt using charcoal as tooth powder. So my hunt for Charcoal started with my local provision store. All what i could easily find this-

J D C BYTCO Kala Dant Manjan from Yashoda Herbs, Nashik. One of the most popular and Inexpensive toothpaste in North India. Teeny tiny plastic bottle sealed with a metal screw cap filled with black powder with label in hindi.

This was something I wanted to gave try as face mask. Why????
Again the same philosophy, if you can put something in your mouth, you can use it on your face too. Its safe (except peppers...hehehe).
Now how is it safe????
its the Ingredients- Sat Pudina (.25%)- Mint extract: known for its anti flatulance properties but also an amazing skin toner but antibacterial too and hence considered best for curing acne.
Ajwain Sat (.60%)- Carom Seeds Extract: has antifungal and antiinflammatory properties which again cures red inflamed acne. it even helps in lightening of scars.
Kapoor (10%)- Camphor: soothe irritations like itching and rashes, treat acne and skin infections, and reduce burn marks.
Kapoor Tel (10%)- Camphor oil is an excellent disinfectant, insecticide, and germicide.
Nilgiri Tel 1%)- Eucalyptus Oil- It not only cleans your skin, the oil is also used to fight away skin infections.
Sankhjira (25%)- Shankh Jeera- It's cooling effect gives relief from itching and stinging sensation. Its bacteriostatic and antiseptic properties control bacterial growth and infection.
Charcoal Powder as base.
So its obvious that there is no harmful ingredient rather would target skin problems one or the other way.

Another BIG reason to favour- price: Only Rs 18 for 35 gms of powder. Isnt it Super Duper inexpensive??? But sadly I could not find this online. Will try and update in case if i could find any online source.

How was my Experience- Initially i tried this powder mixing with water and applied on my cleansed face. but it dried super quickly and even i had trouble washing it off.
Next time i mixed 1/4 -1/2 tsp in aloe vera gel and applied on face. it did not dry that quick also i felt cooling with tingling (due to camphor & carom seed extracts). People with sensitive skin are suggested to take a patch test first. This time it was easy to remove as i first wiped off with my wet tissue and then washed off with water. if required, can use a mild face wash to remove stubborn traces, if any. But I had to apply a good heavy duty moisturiser asit was quite drying for me. I felt stretchy but then there was no side effect later too. I would suggest using this once a week that too in night as the skin is clean, dry & sensitive after this detox. Exposing to dirt and sun may again call for new troubles.
Within 2-3 applications, I could see major difference; reduction in acne, active pimples started drying & Acne marks may take time to fade away which i am sure of.
Looking into quantity required, this 35 gms obviously going to go long with me but then i am also using this for my teeth cleaning and believe it really works on teeth too. They are not only clean but whiter too.

So till the next post, would like you to share any of your recent beauty DIY or Serendipity like this.....
